Campaign Initiatives, Focus, Goals, & Commitments

  • Land Bank - Cities use land banks for a variety of purposes including abating blighted properties and redevelopment. I would like to work with council to investigate establishing a land bank in Highland Heights for the community's benefit. This will allow the city to control our destiny directly whether that be to create new parks or other needs.

  • Revenue Opportunities - We have all experienced the inflation of virtually every expense over the last five years. The city and residents of Highland Heights are not immune to this inflation as costs for all of us have increased. I would like to offset some of those increases by creating opportunities for new sources of revenue. For example, there are beautiful hanging flower baskets at many of the main intersections in the city during the summer months. I would like to create the opportunity to have businesses and residents sponsor those baskets so that they are provided and maintained at no cost to the city.

  • Police, Fire, & EMS - I am a strong supporter of the excellent services that our police and fire departments provide. We are fortunate to have such dedicated police officers, firemen, EMT's, and paramedics in our city. Police Chief Matejcic and Fire Chief Bill Turner have done a fantastic job and I will do all I can on city council to support them and their departments.

  • Service Department - We are fortunate to have excellent city services and Service Director Brian Belfiore has done an admirable job. The free brush and large debris pick-up is unique in greater Cleveland and saves homeowner's time and money. Our service department is quick to respond with Fall leaf removal as well as salting and plowing the streets in the winter. Maintaining our roads during a snow storm can be very challenging, but nothing communicates that Highland Heights is open-for-business faster than safe and clear streets after a major snow event. I will do all I can to support our service department to ensure we continue to provide first class city services.

  • Responsive - If elected, my constituents are the residents and businesses of the entire city of Highland Heights. I pledge to be accessible and respond quickly to every question and inquiry that I receive. I also pledge to be proactive and promote transparency and community engagement in my local governance.
